I watch with envy when people who have strived to reach the pinnacle of their chosen field succeed in doing so. The unbridled sense of achievement when someone wins a gold medal, scores an oscar or smashes their forecasted sales targets is something i know nothing about.

The problem is, to reach any goal and to feel the euphoria of victory, one has to be dedicated to hard work, willing to make personal sacrifices and able to apply oneself without distraction to the single minded vision of getting there.

I knew from a young age i was not one of these people and therefore had long given up on any chance of experiencing one of those moments of punching the air, index fingers raised, king of the world elation.

Unlike the guy in monsterchildren I do not bowl. 

Well I do but I aint no professional.
